PRESIDENTIAL VOTE OF CONFIDENCE
Each
year the Transportation Bureau of the Office of the Republic
of Chile conducts tests to determine what type and brand of the
automobiles of the President and his escorts should use.
These tests are carried out on abrasive asphalt in the Las Vizcachas
race circuit and consist of rapid accelerations, sharp braking,
swerving, 360° and 180° turns, high-speed backups, and
ascending and descending slopes at high speeds. The tires are also
subjected to other types of surfaces: clay, pebbles, gravel and
dirt roads.
The brands and models of tires tested this year included Bridgestone;
Pirelli and others, as well as Toyo?s 600-F5 205/65R15 tires.
Once all of the tests of resistance, quality, traction and durability
were completed, the brand of tires chosen by the Office was Toyo.
Toyo is very proud of this honour, and will do their best to continue
to supply the president and the people of Chile the very best tires.
