Kuwana
Plant Granted ISO 9002 Certification
Toyo Now Boasts Five ISO 9000 Units
Toyo's
Kuwana Plant manufactures radial tires for passenger cars, light
trucks, trucks and buses.
Workers
at the plant have for some time been striving to improve
quality control and assurance at Kuwana. Their efforts
have now been spectacularly rewarded; on
November9th, 1995 the Kuwana Plant was designated as an ISO 9002
facility. Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance, the British certification
organization, certified the plant for this international quality
control and assurance standard.
The Kuwana Plant joins a select but expanding group of Toyo Tire
units that have obtained ISO 9000 certification. As of December
1995, there were five units
holding this honor:
- Feb.
1994 ISO 9002 Tatsuno Plant
- Mar.
1994 ISO 9002 Toyo Tire Australia
- Aug.
1994 ISO 9002 Sendai Plant
- Nov.
1995 ISO 9001 Toyo-Reifen GmbH
- Nov.
1995 ISO 9002 Kuwana Plant
Toyo
hopes to progressively add more names to this list, thus attaining
a uniform standard of product quality, and creating an environment
that will enable us to further promote our distributors' and dealers'
sales. We look forward to the continued support of all Toyo staff
and representatives in this on-going effort.
