TOYO
TIRES RATED #1 FOR PRODUCT QUALITY FOR 6th
YEAR IN A ROW - TIRE REVIEW .
What
Would Convince You To Buy A Toyo Tire?
Tire
quality has never been as significant to consumers as in the
last few years. It’s no wonder Toyo is finally being noticed!
It
is challenging to be #1 once in a while, however a company truly
dedicated to product quality exceeds year after year.
The
following are excerpts from the 2002 Tire Review Tire Brands
Study Article: Voice of the Dealer 10th Annual Tire Brandy
Study of U.S. Tire Dealers
The
typical retail tire dealer carries an average of 3.2 major brands,
1.9 house/associate brands and 2.0 private brands, according
to the latest Tire Review Tire Dealer Profile Study. But which
brands do they carry? More importantly, how do they decide what
brands to sell?
For
the 10th consecutive year, Tire Review has asked dealers to rate
the performance of their tire brands.
The
Study examines major and private brands (including house) on
the retail side (passenger, performance and light truck/SUV tires).
The Study was expanded into multiple segments last year so that
each brand could be compared more evenly and directly, better
reflecting their positions in the industry.
This
annual Study measures only the opinions and perceptions of the
tire dealers who carry these brands. A dealer’s perception
of the tire brands he or she carries is a very powerful measure.
As always, respondents were not permitted to comment on brands
they did not carry, end-users were not polled in any way, and
Tire Review did not physically test any tires. The results presented
here reflect the opinions of the independent tire dealers.
Babcox
Research conducted this Study, analyzing tire dealer responses
from some 500 completed telephone interviews. Every effort was
made to obtain a fair sampling of responses and assure the number
of responses gathered was consistent with accepted industry brand
market share figures.
Dealers
surveyed rated each brand of tire they carried on a 1 to 10 scale – 10
being highest – on a series of categories. For the Consumer
Tire segment, dealers were asked to grade each brand by Product
Availability, Line Coverage, Delivery, Benefit of Merchandising,
Product Quality, Product Innovation, Fill Rate and Profitability
of Brand.
In
addition, an aggregate overall score for each brand was calculated,
averaging the results from each category. The top brands in each
category, plus ties, are shown here. An asterisk indicates last
year’s category winner.
More
than 100 different major, associate and private brands were mentioned
by dealers participating in this year’s Study. The cutoff
for consideration in this year’s Consumer Tire Study was
15 mentions.
