TIRES RATED #1 FOR PRODUCT QUALITY FOR 7th
YEAR IN A ROW - TIRE REVIEW .
Tire
Dealers depend on their tire brands to deliver to goods in the
showroom, on the street and on the bottom line. But how do they
decide what brands to carry and sell? And more importantly, how
do those brands perform.
For the 11th strait year, Tire Review asked North American tire
dealers to rate the performance of the tire brands
– consumer (passenger, performance and light truck/SUV) and
commercial (medium truck) they carry and sell. The result of this
much anticipated, well-read and sometimes surprising Study are
presented here.
This Study, in fact, measures tire dealer opinions and perceptions
about the brands they carry and sell. The dealers opinions/perception
is a powerful measure. Tire Review’s Tire Brand Study examines
major (including associate) and private brands. The Study was expanded
into multiple segments in 2001 so that each brand could be compared
fairly and directly with other major competitive brands, better
reflecting their positions in the industry.
Respondents were not permitted to comment on brands they did not
carry. Consumers and end users were not polled in any way. And
Tire Review did not physically test and tires. The result only
reflect the expressed opinions and perceptions of independent tire
dealers. Babcox Research conducted this Study for Tire Review,
analyzing tire dealer responses from some 700 completed telephone
surveys. Every effort was made to obtain fair sampling of responses
and assure the number of responses gathered was consistent with
accepted industry brand market share figures. Limits were placed
on the number of dealers interviewed in geographic region, thereby
restricting the impact of certain brands with strong distribution
in one region or another.
A total of 1,688 specific brand mentions were collected for the
Consumer tire segment of the study.
Here are the results of this years study.
