A Simple And Usually Inexpensive Way To Solve A Ride Disturbance Is To Check Your Tire's Balance.

Balancing Your Tires

One of the most common causes for ride disturbance is tires and wheels which are unbalanced. Most balance disturbances are distinguishable by the disturbance being eveident at certain speeds, usually stopping above or below this speed.

At high speeds a tire which is not balanced properly can generate severe vibrations. These vibrations can be felt in your steering wheel or even in the seat of your vehicle.

Sudden ride disturbances occur due to the change in characteristics of your vehicle. These changes could come from something as simple as hitting a curb when parking or riding over a speed bump or pothole.

Ride disturbances should be looked after immediately. Excessive vibrations could cause costly repair such as pre-mature front end parts wear and irregular tire wear.

Wheel Weights
Most vehicles use common lead balance weights. You may have noticed the small weights placed on the rim of your tire. These weights help the tire remain balanced at all speeds.

Some expensive alloy wheels can be damaged with the use of standard lead weights and may require the use of a coated weight. See your Toyo dealer for more information.

A common occurence is loosing a wheel weight. Your tire should be re-balanced if this occurs.
